The Lunettes 6 Noires:MM6's Runway Obsession, Finally on Sale
Every model at MM6 Maison Margiela's SS26 show wore them. Now the all-black shield sunglasses that defined Milan's most talked-about runway moment are available to buy — and they're as uncompromising as you'd expect.
When MM6 Maison Margiela staged its Spring/Summer 2026 show outside the newly renovated Milan flagship on Via della Spiga, the message was already on every face. Not on a traditional runway, but on the street — every model following the one ahead, each wearing the same sleek, all-black shield sunglasses. That frame was the Lunettes 6 Noires. No other accessory in the show carried that kind of weight. The glasses weren't a styling afterthought; they were the punctuation mark on a collection built around "heightened normality" — the idea that the most radical thing MM6 can do is make the extraordinary look inevitable.

As seen on the SS26 runway Every look at MM6's Milan SS26 show — staged on the street outside the Via della Spiga flagship — was finished with the Lunettes 6 Noires. The frame appeared across the entire lineup, making it the single most visible accessory of the season.
The Lunettes 6 Noires are now available through Retrosuperfuture, MM6's manufacturing partner for this debut eyewear collaboration, and the product lives up to its runway mythology. Headlining the SS26 sunglasses collection, the Lunettes 6 revisits an iconic archival silhouette through a pure shield construction, rendered entirely in black. What that means in practice: no break between lens and frame, no layered components, no decorative hardware. Just one continuous wraparound plane that sits across the face with an almost aggressive quietness.

At 138mm lens width, these are a genuinely wide shield — designed to occupy the face rather than sit on it. The 110mm temples keep them proportioned, and the all-black colourway (product code IFZ) ensures there is nothing to distract from the silhouette itself. The design reinterprets an archival silhouette by removing traditional frame segmentation, forming a continuous wraparound lens rendered entirely in black — emphasizing a unified structure rather than separate components, aligning with the brand's deconstructive design language.

"Every model wore them. The same frame, from first look to last — that's not styling, that's a manifesto."
This is exactly what makes the Lunettes 6 Noires one of the most important eyewear releases of 2026. The luxury sunglasses market is saturated with logo-forward pieces and heritage-house revivals. MM6 has produced the opposite: a frame that is immediately recognisable precisely because it refuses to perform. The SS26 collection is rooted in the concept of "heightened normality" — MM6's core philosophy that finds the extraordinary in the everyday, the chic in the casual. The Lunettes 6 Noires are the purest expression of that idea in a wearable object.

Available now at €370 via Retrosuperfuture. If the runway is any indication of demand, don't expect them to sit long.
